Bengals Coach Backs Rookie Tight End as Injuries Pile Up

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor expressed confidence in rookie tight end Jack Endries as the team deals with several season-ending injuries at the position. Taylor said the young player has earned trust through his preparation and steady approach since joining the roster.

The Bengals have lost multiple tight ends to long-term injuries, forcing the coaching staff to reshape the depth chart and lean on less experienced players. Endries, who joined the team as an undrafted rookie, has taken on a larger role in meetings and practice reps as a result.

Taylor noted that Endries has shown reliable hands and a willingness to learn blocking assignments, two areas the staff emphasized during training camp. The coach added that the rookie's work ethic has stood out among the younger players on offense.

Cincinnati plans to use a rotation at tight end, but Taylor indicated Endries will continue to see meaningful snaps as the season progresses. The team hopes his development can help offset the loss of veteran contributors and keep the offense balanced.

Endries said he is focused on improving each week and credits the coaching staff and veteran teammates for helping him adjust to the speed of the professional game.
