The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has revealed its list of finalists for the Class of 2026, and it features two prominent names from Brooklyn Nets history: Blake Griffin and Buck Williams.
Griffin, known for his explosive athleticism and highlight-reel dunks, spent a portion of his career with the Nets. While his peak years were with the LA Clippers, where he was a six-time All-Star and Rookie of the Year, his veteran presence in Brooklyn was a notable chapter. His candidacy is bolstered by a resume that helped redefine the power forward position in the modern era.
Buck Williams, a cornerstone of the New Jersey Nets franchise, is a finalist for the fourth consecutive year. A three-time All-Star and the 1982 Rookie of the Year, Williams is the Nets' all-time leader in rebounds and ranks second in points scored for the franchise. His reputation as one of the league's most consistent and rugged rebounders during the 1980s and early 1990s has kept him in strong contention for enshrinement.
The finalists will now be reviewed by Honors Committees, with the full Class of 2026 scheduled to be announced in April. Induction ceremonies are set to take place later that summer.
