Conestoga captured the PIAA Class 3A team title with a narrow win over Lower Merion. The Pioneers swept the singles matches to build an early lead, then held off a rally from the Aces in doubles. The victory capped an undefeated season for Conestoga, which lost only one set across the entire playoff run.

Baseball

PIAA CLASS 5A QUARTERFINALS
Bethel Park 6, West Chester East 2
Cedar Crest 4, Abington Heights 1
Cathedral Prep 7, Solanco 3
Bishop Shanahan 5, Shaler 4

Semifinals are set for Tuesday, May 19 at sites to be announced. Bethel Park will face Cedar Crest, and Cathedral Prep takes on Bishop Shanahan.

Softball

PIAA CLASS 4A QUARTERFINALS

Semifinals will be played Wednesday, May 20. Elk County Catholic meets Jersey Shore, while Mount Pleasant faces West Perry.

Several individual records fell on the final day of competition. Union City's girls 4x400 relay team broke a 12-year-old state mark with a time of 3:49.21. South Williamsport's boys distance medley relay also set a new PIAA record.

Playoff Schedule for Saturday, May 16

Boys Volleyball: PIAA Class 2A semifinals at Cumberland Valley High School, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Girls Lacrosse: PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals at various sites, 2 p.m. start.
Boys Lacrosse: PIAA Class 2A quarterfinals at neutral sites, 4 p.m. start.
