Moran feels Mayo still not the 'finished article'

Moran feels Mayo still not the 'finished article'

Moran, however, was quick to temper the excitement. Speaking after the game, he acknowledged the win was satisfying but insisted there is plenty of room for improvement. "We played well for patches, but we switched off a few times and let them get easy scores," he said. "Against a top side in a final, you cannot do that. We are not the finished article yet."

The victory marks a major turnaround for Mayo, who have struggled to reach the final stages in recent years. Their last appearance in the decider ended in heartbreak. This time, the team looks sharper and more balanced, with a strong defensive structure and a potent attack. Still, Moran is keeping his players grounded. He pointed to their previous semi-final exits as a lesson in staying focused. "We have done nothing yet," he added. "The hard work starts now."

Mayo will now wait to see who they face in the final, with the other semi-final still to be played. For the fans, the wait for a first All-Ireland title since 1951 continues, but this performance has given them genuine hope.
