Recreation and Sports Schedule for Mid-October 2026

October 15, 2026 - 09:29

The coming week offers a wide range of athletic events for local fans and participants. From college matchups to high school rivalries, there is plenty to watch and take part in across the region.

On the college side, conference play continues with several key games. Volleyball squads hit the court midweek, while soccer teams battle for standings position as the season moves toward its final stretch. Cross country runners will also compete in invitational meets, giving athletes a chance to sharpen their times before championship season begins.

At the prep level, football Friday nights remain the centerpiece for many communities. Local teams are deep into league schedules, and playoff implications grow with each snap. Volleyball and soccer programs also have busy slates, with matches scheduled throughout the week. Swimmers and divers will look to post qualifying times as postseason meets approach.

For those who want to get active rather than just watch, recreation departments are hosting open gym sessions, adult league games, and youth clinics. Registration for winter programs is also opening soon, so families should check with local offices for details.

Whether you are a spectator or a participant, the next ten days provide ample opportunity to get involved in the action.
