Seahawks Add Running Back Robert Henry Jr. to Active Roster

The Seattle Seahawks made a move to bolster their backfield on Monday, signing running back Robert Henry Jr. off the Washington Commanders' practice squad. The transaction gives Seattle additional depth at a position that has seen its share of wear and tear throughout the season.

Henry Jr. had been developing within Washington's system before the Seahawks came calling. By signing him off the practice squad, Seattle must place him on its active roster, a sign the team sees immediate value in what he brings to the offense. Practice squad players often wait for opportunities like this, and Henry Jr. now gets his chance to contribute on game days rather than watching from the sideline.

The Seahawks have relied on their ground game to control tempo and take pressure off the passing attack. Adding a fresh set of legs gives the coaching staff more flexibility in how they rotate personnel and manage carries down the stretch. Henry Jr. will likely need time to learn the playbook and earn trust, but his arrival signals the front office is actively addressing roster needs rather than standing pat.

For Washington, losing a practice squad player is a minor setback, though it reflects how other teams evaluate talent. Seattle now hopes Henry Jr. can carve out a role and provide a spark when called upon.
