Sengun Records Triple-Double as Rockets Roll Past Mavericks in Preseason

October 10, 2026 - 03:24

Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun delivered a standout performance in preseason play, recording a triple-double in just 22 minutes on the floor against the Dallas Mavericks. The young big man finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, showcasing the all-around game that has made him a cornerstone of Houston's rebuild.

Sengun controlled the flow of the offense from the high post, finding cutters and shooters with sharp passes while also creating his own scoring chances inside. His rebounding helped the Rockets limit second-chance opportunities for Dallas, and his playmaking kept the offense humming even when the starters rested.

The outing is a promising sign for Houston heading into the regular season. Sengun has steadily expanded his role since entering the league, and a triple-double in limited minutes suggests he is ready to take another step forward as a primary facilitator. Coaches and teammates have praised his vision and basketball IQ, traits that were on full display against the Mavericks.

While preseason results do not count in the standings, performances like this build confidence and chemistry. The Rockets will look to carry that momentum into their remaining tune-up games before the real competition begins.
